HOW TO DESIGN AN INTERFACE TO ENGAGE EMPLOYEES?

Overview

The COBRAPE Management System was created to move the company from analog to digital and connect multiple systems being used by the business' employees. However, the users found the interface confusing and time-consuming, which hindered usage and limited the amount of data collected from the different projects.



MAIN DESIGN DECISIONS

• Organize the systems (visual identity, web flow & UX Design)

• Organize the interface (UI & UX Design)

• User testing (UX Design)

• Improve look & feel (visual identity)

What are the causes of interface confusion?


• Hard to identify each system

• The information on tables and forms is not easy to view

• No clear buttons and actions



Why are users avoiding using the system?


• Too much time spent on finding the information

• The system looks unfinished and doesn't appear standardized

Solutions


Consistency and visual pattern

Basic shape creation to produce all logos, icons and illustrations. Definition of colors to use in all systems and a different color to represent each web system



Recognition instead of memorization

Introduced graphic elements such as boxes, lines, tabs, different color buttons to provide a suitable information hierarchy
