Bossa des Alpes

HOMEMADE FRENCH FOOD WITH A BRAZILIAN TOUCH

Overview

The purpose of this project was to develop a logo and visual identity for a new French restaurant near the Alps. One of the proprietors hails from France, while the other has roots in Brazil. They christened their establishment "Bossa del Alpes" or "Alps' Bossa" in English, symbolizing the owner's cultural background. The term Bossa came from Bossa Nova, a Brazilian music style, and is commonly used by Cariocas (local residents of Rio de Janeiro) to emphasize when a product has something special. The word "Alpes" represents the location and use of locally-sourced French ingredients.

In light of this, the logo draws inspiration from both the Alpine and Rio de Janeiro cultures. Specifically, I drew inspiration from French Alpine tourism posters and the vinyl covers of Bossa Nova albums from the late 1950s and early 1960s.
